First of all....what are your qualifications? If you want an entry level position in the event management field, you need to be highly organized and have demonstrated that skill somewhere. For example, in college did you belong to a club, collect articles for a newsletter that had a deadline, or organized a program of some sort!!?!?!?! Find something you have done.
Secondly, have you ever volunteered to help at an event....a church event, a community event, a walk-a-thon?
Third, have you ever been "totally" responsible for a certain activity within an event or project? For example, I was responsible in graduate school for gathering information, mailing, and collecting evaluations for the graduate school's chairperson. It was volunteer, but I obtained valuable experience.
Fourth, have you put these "event management" types of activities on your resume.
If you do not have these skills, I would suggest that you volunteer and obtain the skills to put on your resume.
Also, don't give up. To break into any industry without the qualifications or experience is difficult. Look at it as a challenge!
